We all get distracted by those shiny new objects in our lives. Remember though, they are a distractions not new goals in and of themselves.
Let’s take running. I have a goal to get more running miles logged in preparation of an upcoming race. What if I thought I needed a new treadmill to train? I’d spend many(and the way I am many many)hours looking and evaluating them. It would almost be as if a new treadmill as my goal. It’s not and never was. I must remain focused on my goal. Not shiny new toys or tools, but actually on the task at hand.

I have also heard that multitasking is a great way to do many things poorly at once.
